Shipping FAQs

We ship our products via UPS 2nd day delivery. Shipments go out Monday through Wednesday. Place your order anytime between Sunday and Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST), and your order will ship the same week. Orders placed after Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. PST will ship the following Monday. Saturday deliveries are not available, and shipments to Alaska may take additional shipping time.

Shipping meat takes a little extra work from us here on the farm and you at arrival, but pasture-raised meat from small family farmers is worth it. We ask that you partner with us to make sure everything goes well.

Here’s what our shipping process looks like: First, our meat is dry-aged from three to twenty days (depending on whether its beef, lamb, or pork), then it’s cut, packaged, and immediately frozen. When your order is being fulfilled, your meat will be pulled out of the freezer, sorted by a Lonely Lane employee, put into a plastic liner that goes into an insulated reusable cooler, and packed with ice packs or dry ice. Your meat will ship frozen, and it will arrive to you frozen, partially thawed, or chilled.

Here’s what we ask of you:

  • Make sure that you’ll be able to bring the package inside the day it’s delivered.
  • Let everyone in your household know that meat is being delivered, so the first person to see the box can bring it in.
  • If you’re buying meat as a gift for someone, let them know what’s coming and what day it will arrive, so they know to look for the box. (That way they won’t bring it in and set it aside—or put it straight under a Christmas tree without opening it!)

Some things to be aware of:

  • Keep in mind that we are a small family farm working with other small family farmers. Everything is done in small batches.
  • We guarantee your meat during the shipping process until it arrives at your doorstep.
  • UPS will deliver your box without a signature required.
  • We can’t deliver to P.O. boxes, so be sure to provide us with a street address and not a P.O. box.
  • Double check the street address, especially if you are sending meat to someone else.
  • We ship our products in a refrigerated environment via insulated coolers with ice packs or dry ice. Our products will arrive frozen, partially thawed or chilled.

If you have questions or issues with your order, contact us at info@lonelylanefarms.com or call us at (503) 845-4252 Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
